HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

Everyone...I hope you are all having a SUPER day today!!! I woke up to a wonderful surprise in my inbox....My dear sweet friend Diann Scholl blessed me with a "Million Dollar Friend Award"!!! Absolutely made my day!!! THANK YOU DIANN!!!! I've added it to the right of my blog and have chosen 5 people to pass my award on to.......I noticed after I had passed mine on Diann has chosen a couple of them before me...but hey, they deserve it!!!

Fabrizio Martellucci - http://craftingmad.blogspot.com/

These are all AWESOME Artists and you will love their work!!!!

Another friend of my from a group I'm in, Greta, shared with us a wonderful link to a Foam Board ink pad holder she made for her stampin up ink pads she has www.rebelinker.blogspot.com/2007/10/inkpad-holder-for-6.html ....Well I loved the idea but I don't use stampin up ink pads......I decided I wanted to create one to fit my needs....I have some wire racks on my ART desk...I thought it would be great to have them displayed between these wire racks...so I fashioned me one....I REALLY like the way it turned out...thought I would share it with you.....

Mind you, I KNOW it's not pretty....but it IS very useful!!! :) I modified it to fit what I needed it for and am happy happy with the outcome...the only downside to it was I burned myself several times last night with my glue gun!!!! :( Anyway, just wanted to share it with you!!!
Ok, now it's off to work for me this morning!!! As always I want to Thank You for stopping by to visit with me today!!! I hope you all have a very blessed and happy Wednesday!!! Be safe...until next time...

Happy Tuesday....

Everyone....I hope you all have had a wonderful day!!! Whew it has been cooooollllll here today.....Our morning started out at 32° and I believe our high was 49°...Fall is here fall is here!!! I must admit, however, it is a nice change of pace!!!
I couldn't stand it any longer......I just HAD to play with paper today!!! I started this card this morning and finished it this evening......It looks simple but elegant don't ya think.....I am REALLY happy with the way it turned out and will be making more of these!! The tree and the Happy Holidays are some new stamps I got this weekend....Great purchases huh!!! Me thinks so!!

I stamped the Tree with pigment gold ink and sprinkled ultra fine embossing powder on it, shook off the excess and embossed with heat gun.....took a gold pen and went around the edges of the black linen cardstock.....then I took some black and gold ribbon I ALSO got this weekend placed at the bottom below the tree.....then stamped with pigment gold ink the happy holidays and embossed as I did the tree....cut it out and put some raised dots on the back to lift it up off the ribbon when I adhered......

Behind the top layer of cardstock I put a layer of wallpaper...I also scanned the wallpaper to make my envelope and the inside layer of the card!!! I adhered the layer of wallpaper and the top layer to the base of the card which is black linen cardstock!! I printed the inside layer and also a phrase.....Whoala!!! Simple and elegant!!!
I had fun making this and it just makes me want to make more and more!!!! So what have you all been creating!!! I am SO looking forward to this weekend being able to stay snuggled up in my cozy home in my awesome ART Studio creating away!!! Doesn't that sound FUN!!! :)
I, as always.....want to THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me!!! I hope you enjoyed my card!!! Please remember to come back and visit with me again!!! Take care, may God bless you all.....until next time.....

I just had to play!!!

With paper tonight before we left to go to Nashville....LOL, I was having withdrawls!!! I had one swap I needed to complete for an ATC_World group I belong to......It was a technique swap using beeswax.......

This is my first attempt at using beeswax in my ART......the verdict is still out whether I like it or not.....I think once I've used it a couple more times I will enjoy it but will take some getting used to.....but, I completed my swap, thought I would share it with you....
I do like the color combination I used and the embellishments I chose......and it does have a nice feel to the card......so I am happy with the way it turned out....mostly am glad this challenge is completed!! :)
Ok, now I need to get some last minute things done before I go nite nite to prepare for our little trip tomorrow!!! I hope you all have had a wonderful Friday and have a SUPER weekend!!! As always I want to THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me.....Until next time...

Happy Friday!!!

Everyone......I'm having withdrawls from paper this week!!! Of course I just HAPPENED to make hotel reservations ACROSS THE STREET from a craft supply store!!!! hehehehe, hubby just LOVED the convenience of it!!! LOL

I hope you all have a super creative weekend!!! Please be sure to check back soon because I WILL be creating again real soon!!! Until then...

Did I Have a Great.....

Saturday or WHAT!!!?? I was able to spend the entire day playing with paper and had the best time!!! My favorite guys in my life....hubby and 2 boys......did all the cooking for me yesterday with the exception of the homemade donuts I made yesterday morning!!! So I was able to relax and give my right arm a break that I believe I have carpal tunnel in.....Whew is it hurting!! But playing with paper is relaxing to me....

I had SEVERAL swaps I was working on and was very thrilled that I've been able to complete all my swaps with the exeception of 1....which I plan to work on in a bit....But I thought I would take time to share with you all my creations!!! I'm not going to drag out all the details as I do not want you to get tired of reading...BUT, If there are any you have questions, about...PLEASE feel free to email me at pennyduncan@att.net I would be thrilled to share with you how I did each one!!!

I will say this first card I'm sharing with you by far took me the longest and has the most entricate work...as you can tell if you will look at the rose....EACH petal I cut out molded and then stuck down on the top of a base copy of the rose!!! This is a rubberstamp I have and I LOVE!!!! The rest I'll just let you browse and take a look for yourself!!

This card is for an "Anything Goes" Swap I'm in...

This one is for a "Paris Theme" Swap I'm in...
This one is part of the 3 card Swap I'm in....I shared the "Christmas Theme" card the other day....this one is for the "New Years" part of the set...

This is the 3rd card for the 3 Card Set for "Thanksgiving"....
The Last one is for a "It's Thanksgiving USA" Swap....
Ok.....That's it for the creations for today so far!!!! Can I say again how much fun I had creating each and everyone of these!!!! Time just flies by while creating......It's about 2:15 p.m. here in Robards, a beautiful day and I'm about to take my oldest back to his grandma's......It's been a FANTASTIC weekend....I pray you've all enjoyed as equal as a weekend as us!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit with me and sharing my ART!!!! I pray you all have a WONDERFUL remainder of your Sunday!!! Take care and I talk with you soon!!! Until then....

Yippie....It's Friday!!!

Happy Friday to Everyone!!!! I hope this day meets you full of promise and possiblities!!! :) It surely has cooled down here in Robards, KY this morning....we're started out in the mid 40's this morning......bbbbrrrrrrrrrrr, but I'm loving it!! I'm so ready for the Fall Season!

Well I did get to play once more in my ART Studio yesterday morning before work and after work!!! I'm working on a 3 card swap for a Yahoo group I belong to.....this is the first of the three card set......

Yes I know my colors are not what you would "normally" think of for a Christmas Card.....but it does have a VERY warm look to it doesn't it!!! I just started with stamping the two main images onto slightly off white cardstock then just started coloring with watercolor pencils.....stippled with distress inks.....used some glitter on santa's hat and some pearl ex on the snowflakes and santa's beard and mustache.and the stamp image portion of the large image....I then layered the images with brown and gold fleck red cardstock......

I did use an embossing sleeve to emboss snowflakes on the brown layer of the card....then layered behind it some of the gold fleck red cardstock and layered all that over a green cardstock card base....I added plaid ribbon then took a holly leaf stamp stamped on slightly off white cardstock then colored with watercolor pencils, sharpie and stippled with distress ink around the edges...I also used glossy accents on the holly berries and also on the stamp image on the large image on the card!

I took an angle image so you can also see that I raised the images up off the base.....I love the warm cozy look of this card....and now realize how well brown can intermingle in with Christmas colors!!!! I also made an accompanying envelope to accent the card!!! I REALLY enjoyed making this card.....I may make more of these for my Christmas cards this year!!!

Ok, now I must get ready to walk out the door for work....I'm looking especially forward to the end of work today because my oldest "Billy" is coming to spend the weekend with us again!!! My two boys have the best time together when they're able to get together....so it should be a fun weekend for them...Me....well I hope to be where?......You guessed it...In MY ART Studio!!! :)

BTW, The card I made for bosses day yesterday was a huge hit!!! Everyone enjoyed it which totally made my day....I just love when I see a smile come on someone's face when they view something I've created!!! Totally makes my day!!! Ok, here I go...I just really want to Thank You again for stopping by to visit with me...please come again!!! Until then....

Happy Hump Day!!!

We're at mid week already!!!! My how days seem to fly by!!!! Well as we all know...tomorrow is Bosses Day......One of my co-workers asked if I would make a card for our bosses.....it is a family owned business..owned by a brother and two sisters....some of the finest people anyone would ever have the pleasure of meeting!!! I know I've mentioned many times over just how blessed I am to work for this family....Anyway.....I was thrilled to meet the challenge.....We are all very close in our office and LOVE to pick on each other......very light hearted.....So I decided to make a funny card for them...kinda touching base on each of us......We actually have 4 Service Technicians so I just used one image to take place for all 4 awesome guys!!!!

Each of the captions tell a little snippet of each of us that without even listing their names they'll be able to tell who's supposed to be who on the card!!! I took an angle shot so you can see the dimension on the card.....

And I also took a close up of the phrase just to show that I used a 3D Gel pen...I traced over the script that I printed off my printer and I wanted to give it more bling....It really makes the phrase pop out!!!

Anyway....I just wanted to share my funny with you!!! Should bet met with a good laugh in our office tomorrow!!!!

Temps are supposed to cool down her in Robards, KY tomorrow...so we'll finally be able to feel Fall like weather...FINALLY!!! I'm ready to open my windows and let a breeze in!!! :) Ok, well....guess that's about all my excitement tonight....I want to, as usual, sincerly Thank You for stopping by to visit with me allowing me to share my ART with you!!! I pray you all have a very blessed eveing and Thursday!!! Please come again...until then....

Happy Tuesday...

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Tuesday....the day has just about come to an end here in Robards, KY....and I shall be going nite nite soon....However I just had to share with you my creation I made this evening....I had SO much fun playing with paper tonight....and it had a VERY special meaning to me!!!

I have a VERY good friend named Chrystal Schilling....she lives in Texas and creates BEAUTIFUL handmade paper!!! Her work on paper is breathtaking when you actually hold a piece in your hand......I had ordered some from her and my order came in today...I couldn't wait to play with some of it.....I have a few swaps I'm involved in....one of them being Orange & Brown....well.....the brown paper I received from her was PERFECT for my ART.....the handmade paper is the top back layer of the card......Isn't it GORGEOUS!!!! The tag is also some of her handmade paper!! It is actually white with botanicals through it.... I stippled it with Distress Ink "Tea Dye" and spritzed it with Memories Mist "Orange Juice. Then used one of my rubberstamp images from Sweet Grass Stamps.....then rubbed the edges with Antique Gold rubons......You can view and purchase Chrystals paper at http://cspaperandbeads.etsy.com/

The pumpkins and vines were an image I have on my computer I printed it out....it was black and white....I colored with my watercolor pencils then cut out....stippled the entire image with my Distress Ink "Tea Dye"...then spritzed with my Memories Mist "Orange Juice".....the pumpkins I then sprinkled clear embossing powder and embossed.....On the leaves I spritzed with some of my pearl ex mist I had made and then coated with a layer of clear embossing powder and embossed....I did the same to a seperate pumpkin to raise the dimension on the card.....

The leaves scattered on the card are images I had actually taken pictures of myself of leaves from my yard....I printed them out the size I wanted, cut them out....stippled with my Distress Ink "Tea Dye", spritzed with Memories Mist "Orange Juice coated with clear embossing powder and embossed...on one of the leaves I skipped the "Orange Juice" and spritzed with my Pearlex Green Mist I had made then coated with clear embossing powder and embossed.....

The layer behind the handmade paper is a burnt orange card stock that I stippled the edges with Distress Ink "Tea Dye" and then trimmed with a Gold Pen....then layered everything over a dark brown cardstock for the base of the card......Now of course you know I have to have an envelope to compliment the card...so I decided to make it this time out of a Orange/Brown Wallpaper..I love the two together.....That's it...That's my creation for tonight....One that I am very happy with and LOVE the handmade papers on it!!!

I want to THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me......I pray you all have a safe, and blessed evening and Wednesday...Take care and come visit again....Until then....

Another Weekend Gone.....

I cannot believe another weekend has whizzed by so quickly!!! I have been in heaven all weekend as we now FINALLY have high speed internet again!!! We've lived in the country for 2 years and have had to deal with dial up speed internet and it has driven me CRAZY!! AT&T finally got it in our area and it was hooked up on Friday....so I've been having a blast getting everything just so so!!! In between playing with paper, watching tv with hubby and whirling around on the internet we made homemade pizza tonight....

I made my dough from scratch as well as my pizza sauce....I prepared all of that and then let my youngest, Dylan...and his girlfriend, Kendel make their own pizzas...they had a blast so I thought I would share a quick picture of them with you...they're so cute!!! :)

So, I had two cards I needed to complete for an order I had....I had previously shared one of them the other day....but I've completed it and updated the pictures in my blog from the other day....just scroll down to the next blog and you'll see the updated pictures......I did this card a bit different then the one I did a couple weeks ago....I really like the affect it has!!

Then I did another card with the Iris flower that I had used on a previous card as well.....It is so much fun redoing one and tweeking on what you had done previously to take the card to the next level of what you felt it was like before....That's what I did on this one......like I did a few different things to the butterflies on this card....incorporated some vellum on the layering of the butterflies...as well as the flower......gave more depth to the flower......and stippled the layer below the top layer and embossed the wallpaper after rubberstamping with two colors of stazon ink.....Below is the card I came up with for you to see....I took a couple of angle shots for you to see as well!!!

That's about all I got created for this weekend.....but had much fun making them....I did get to work on some crochet for a bit...while my wrist allowed....oh yeah, and Idid I mention....I have High Speed Internet!!! LOL, just kidding...just love saying that!!!

Ok, guess that about does it for me this late Sunday Evening!!!! I really want to Thank You for stopping by to visit with me tonight...I hope you like my ART and come back and visit with me again soon!!!! I pray you all have a blessed evening and a wonderful Monday!!! Until next time....

It's FRIDAY!!!

Yippie!!! I'm excited...how about you!! I have a whole weekend to play with paper....no events taking place and that's just fine by me...My yougest will be going out with his girlfriend and her sister and her boyfriend for a "date night" so that leaves me and hubby to have a lazy weekend!! I'm sure he'll be watchin' tv and working in the yard.....Me.....he lets me play with paper all day...he's such my sweetie!!!
I received an order earlier this week for 2 cards that I had previously made before...she found them on my blog.....I changed up the colors a bit and tweaked a couple changes on the first one I've made so far....Just thought I would share it with you if you wanna see.....

The other I've started working on and will complete this weekend.....just takes a while with all the cutting and layering but I always love the affect I achieve when I'm done......Time certainly flies by when I'm playing with paper!!!

Well, that's about it from me for now.....I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend!!! Please come back to visit...until then...

Happy Hump Day....

Good Early Afternoon Everyone....and....HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! Only 2 more days til Friday!!!!

I had so much fun playing with paper last night and didn't want to stop....my body was surely sleepy this morning when it was time to get up and get ready for work!!

I am wanting to get more Christmas items made up for my store.....I had rubber stamped and colored the ornaments and holly leaves a couple of weeks ago as well as used some glossy accents and had not done anything with them yet....so while thinking upon what to do this idea popped in my head!

I loved the way it turned out......I'm making a set of 10 of them and will place them in my store www.pennyduncancreations.etsy.com later in the week....I want to make matching envelopes and add a phrase to the inside......As usual I want to THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me and see my latest creations!!! I hope you all have a super Wednesday!!! Please come again....until then....

Happy Tuesday!!!

Can we say....rain, rain and more rain.....that's what we've had here today!! But it is much needed so not many complaints around here...The only bummer about it is it tends to put a damper on our Fall Festival in town this week.....however it will be short lived so won't mess up the whole week.....It's been a rather gloomy day....one of those that's perfect for sleeping in..but, not to be so as it was a work day!!! :)

It was a good day and I did get to play with paper a bit this morning and this afternoon when I got home from work...I was working on a special "Thank You" gift for a person that will be sent out tomorrow...she enjoys oriental so this idea came to mind.......

I thought perhaps she could use it as a book mark or just display!!! I used alot of rubber stamping in this and layering....I love the entire look of the tag.....the tan/green areas are wallpaper and I rubberstamped AND colored with Stazon Ink....took very well and is permanent....I also used sharpies to color the face and a little pearl ex on the dress portion.....I love using wallpaper and am VERY happy I can embellish it with rubberstamps and know that it is permanent!!!!

Thanks for stopping by to visit with me and see my latest ART!!!! Please remember to stop by again......I pray you all have a safe and blessed evening!!! Until next time....

The Weekend it Gone!!!

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Monday!!! I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!! Mine was very nice though I did miss being in my ART Studio most of the weekend!!!

Yep, this weekend was my 25th High School Class Reunion......I cannot believe I've been out of high school that long....but it sure was nice reuniting with all my old friends and classmates from Benjamin Bosse High School Class of '83!!! We had good food and good intermingling!!! The weekend started on Friday night, though we did not make that event....but we did go on Saturday...started at around 6:00 p.m. and ended at 12:30 a.m.....I could tell time was catching up with me as I was missing my pillow...LOL, but I did survive!!!

Sunday was alot more relaxing of a day and I enjoyed a slow pace....I did get caught up on my emails and was able to finally last night begin to play with paper...and continued a bit this morning before coming to work!!! I decided I wanted to try and make a journal to sell in my store www.pennyduncancreations.etsy.com and have been thinking of this idea for awhile so decided to give it a whirl!!!

I used wallpaper, rubber stamps, Stazon Olive Green, Stazon Purple, Stazon Black Inks...and Lace Ribbon....I had alot of fun making this and will do more I believe...Thought I would show you how it turned out...

Happy Hump Day!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday!!! Half way through the week!!!

Today I had a desire to create a card for a lady who is suffering from cancer....her daughter is trying to collect cards for her to have to open when she gets out of surgery!!! What an awesome daughter she is!! Anyway...I was inspired to create one for this special lady and thought I would share with you my creation......

Of course by now you realized I am in to 3D affects....so yes I did layering of the flowers......the "Thinking of You" is stamped with brown Stazon Ink.....on the inside I stamped with Opaque White Stazon the Survivor phrase stamp I have...I felt is was the perfect message for this lady!! The envelope I made doesn't match but I made it to coordinate nicely......

I believe I will go and crochet on a purse I am making.....I'm having a bit of a creative block so will take a break and come back to my paper later!!! I want to Thank You for stopping by once more to visit with me.....I pray you all have a safe evening and wonderful Thursday!!! Until then....take care!!!
